The Lagos State Government has signed the anti-land grabbing bill into law, offenders risk 21-years jail term

Fear is a terrible sensation, one we never, ever want to feel. Go ahead and think of something that both intrigues and scares you for example. It might be profound, like falling in love, or relatively trivial, like stepping over a cockroach and even intensively scary like “Omonile” chasing you out of your own hard earned investment.

The Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has fulfilled his pledge of making the menace of land grabbing in Lagos state a thing of the past with the signing of the Lagos State Properties Protection Law, stipulating 21 years’ jail term for convicts and the Neighbourhood Safety Corps Law, aimed at boosting security of lives and properties in all the Local Government Areas and Local council development areas of the state.

The Properties Law will eliminate the activities of persons or corporate entities who use force and intimidation to dispose or prevent any person or entity from acquiring legitimate interest and possession of property.
